Notre Dame d'Auvergne Church

Construction of the church began in 1928. Disaster in the form of a cyclone hit the town and flattened the church to the ground on May 24, 1929. The construction of reinforced concrete is of cruciform design with brick exterior and plastered interior. The church depicts the most unique architect of its kind in Western Canada. The first mass was celebrated on July 2, 1930. 


Ponteix United Church

The first protestant church in Ponteix was built in 1916. On April 17, 1956 the present United Church was officially opened. In recent years it has become an interdenominational church in conjunction with the Lutheran Church. It also accommodates a Play School in the basement.

La construction de l'église a commencé en 1928. Un désastre sous forme de cyclone a frappé la ville le 24 mai 1929 et a détruit l’église. La construction est de conception cruciforme. L'extérieur est en béton armé et l'intérieur est fait de briques plâtrées. L'église a une architecture unique en son genre dans l'Ouest canadien. La première messe a été célébrée le 2 juillet 1930.

La première église protestante à Ponteix a été construite en 1916. Le 17 avril 1956, l’actuelle Église Unie a été officiellement ouverte. Ces dernières années elle est devenue une église interconfessionnelle en conjonction avec l'Église luthérienne. Il y a également une salle de jeu dans sa cave.
